"A Planter's Reflections"

A Planter's Reflections carved by Guy Breay

The above display table is carved from 5 varieties of salvaged tree stumps.

The name is derived from "Deepavali" which is the Hindu festival of lights and "Mythri" which means friendship.
It is carved from a salvaged Flame She Oak tree trunk and spiraling root system.

The main source of Guy's inspiration is in the natural shape, texture and colour of the timber with which he works. Guy's carvings are also echoes of his life in India and Papua, places he and Jan have visited and friends they have met.

Shown below are Guy's latest pieces which will be exhibited at the 2019 Maleny Wood Expo,  the Sculptors Queensland Exhibition at Mt Coot-tha in May.
